From January 22nd to 24th, a second-year student from Marunouchi Junior High School visited our company for a "Work Experience." The purpose of this program is to encourage students to think about their future career paths and aspirations through hands-on learning.
On the first and second days, as part of the engineering experience, the student engaged in basic programming lessons using Python. Despite being a complete beginner, the student quickly grasped the concepts and actively participated, showing great enthusiasm. They were open to advice on typing and the approach to programming, and they applied it practically. There were moments of struggle with the unfamiliar thinking required for programming, but they overcame these challenges through trial and error and by asking questions.
On the third day, the student experienced administrative work. In the morning, they created data, and in the afternoon, they used the copier to prepare documents. During the data creation experience, they prepared overtime data, a task we perform monthly. The student mentioned that they rarely use a computer and have only had a bit of experience with Excel in school. However, they listened attentively to the instructions and created the data carefully. For the document preparation, the student efficiently thought through the steps and executed the task independently.
Finally, the experience ended with a conversation with the president, leaving a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The student's positive and enthusiastic attitude towards each experience was impressive.
Although the student has not yet decided on their future dreams, we hope that this experience will be a valuable stepping stone in their journey ahead.
